INTRODUCTION
The Cairns Heritage Group was formed in 2003 by a small group of concerned Far North Queensland residents, including myself, who opposed the Queensland Government State-owned (GOC) Cairns Port Authority's decision to sell a taxpayer-owned Trinity Inlet waterfront site for further private commercial development, which would deprive residents and visitors of the last historic (heritage) building with history going back to the late 1800's.
This dedicated inaugural group included:

The Cairns Heritage Group welcomes volunteer supporters who are also concerned at the loss of our unique historic and heritage sites which are being sacrificed on the alter of commercial development.
